Artist Statement – My artwork explores the layers of connection between Biboolboorn (paperbark) and Country. Biboolboorn carries stories of creation, protection, and healing, and has long been used as native bush medicine for mothers and their babies. As a mother myself, I feel deeply connected to these themes. The gentle strength of nature’s paper mirrors the way we hold, protect, and create life. Through layers of resin and organic form, I aim to honour the delicate balance between strength and softness—a reminder that what appears paper thin can hold immense depth and resilience.
